Community Printmaking Workshops

As well as coming to Bristol Print Room, our tutor Steph Renshaw can come to you - whether its a community group, school class or an enthusiastic group of friends there'll be a workshop that's just right for you.

Steph can bring all the equipment including a portable printing press that can print up to A4. Have a look at some of the potential workshop options below

  • Collagraph Printing.

This is one of the most playful and versatile intaglio techniques, ideal for students who find conventional drawing skills difficult to master or want to approach image making from a refreshing new angle. It is just as satisfying for skilled artists as there are so many possible ways to create a complex and intriguing image.

  •  Drypoint Printing

Drypoint is a non-toxic printing technique that produces results similar to etching.

Students will make a plate that can be used to print a small 'edition' of work. We can experiment with different inking techniques, different colours and chine collé. Great for more confident artists who love to draw.

  • Lino Printing

This is a fun and colourful workshop. Students will see the wide range of results possible by making and printing their own, single plate lino cut. We'll look at colour gradients and how to layer prints. This is a great workshop for getting students excited about the possibilities of linocut. It is suitable for all abilities, drawing skills are not essential to create dynamic and satisfying work.

Steph can also design a bespoke course for your group.
